Challenging the status quo from the start: Oda was built to change the way groceries get from distributors to homes

In 2013, we founded Oda (then Kolonial.no) in Norway with a mission to rethink how everyday folks buy groceries. We had a vision to transform multiple weekly visits to the store to a seamless, service-driven experience that would create space for life for thousands of Norwegian families.

We are here for the long haul, and from the start it was our intention to put down roots that would provide stability for our business and our employees. To that end, we built our own systems, bought our own fleets, and worked side-by-side with labor unions to create safe, stable jobs for fulfillment center staff and drivers.

Oda Systems is the next step in that journey. Launching in 2025, we’re now offering our proven logistics platform to grocery retailers around the world. Our full-stack system is designed to make online grocery scalable, profitable and more efficient than any other solution can offer.

Mathem: from complexity to clarity

Mathem has been pioneering online grocery delivery in Sweden since 2009. As the country’s oldest online grocery, and the only purely online player, they’ve built a loyal customer base across Stockholm, Malmö and Gothenburg by focusing on a broad selection, high-quality, reliable service and, most importantly, a genuine desire to give Swedish families more freedom in their daily lives.

But by 2024, Mathem faced a challenge; their systems had grown complex, and the complexity was holding them back.
